North Cyprus Summer Weather
If you’re looking for long, hot, sunny days come to Northern Cyprus in the summer. The North Cyprus summer begins around May when the temperatures typically reach 25C or more. From here they continue to climb until the hottest month of July when you can experience temperatures of up to 40C. For sun worshippers this is the best month of the year to visit North Cyprus, but please do be careful in the sun and remember to take cover from the weather at the hottest part of the day and to apply plenty of sun screen.
Sometimes, the night time can be the worst part of a holiday, trying to sleep in hot weather if you have no air conditioning can be very uncomfortable. In Northern Cyprus you shouldn’t have this problem – during the summer months, the temperature drops to a pleasant average of 21C so it’s still warm enough for an evening stroll, but not too hot for sleeping!
If the heat gets to be a bit too much for you during the day, why not take a trip to the northern coast of North Cyprus. Here the breezes coming off the Mediterranean provide a welcome break from the dry and hot weather. Or to experience something a little different from your typical beach holiday why not take a hike up the Northern Cyprus Kyrenia Mountains. As you get higher the temperature drops further and the view gets more amazing!
North Cyprus Winter Weather
As late as October, the Northern Cyprus weather can still be hot and sunny with temperatures in the mid-20’s not uncommon. From the middle of November is when the weather begins to turn and the temperatures drop, though even in the middle of winter North Cyprus rarely drops below 5C. In the higher areas of the Northern Cyprus Kyrenia Mountains a small amount of snow falls, but rainfall is generally low in North Cyprus as a whole with an average of just 500mm.
Daytime winter weather in Northern Cyprus averages at a pleasant 16C which is perfect weather for exploring Kyrenia and the other towns and historic attractions of North Cyprus.
